Pride of Baltimore II is owned and operated by the 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization Pride of Baltimore, Inc., which is comprised of a small staff located at 1801 S. Clinton Street, #250, Baltimore, MD 21224. Pride of Baltimore, Inc.’s staff includes:
Jan Miles, Captain, Acting Executive Director: Captain Miles is a licensed ship's master who has been with the Pride of Baltimore organization since 1981, when he joined as one of three rotating Captains on the original Pride of Baltimore. He is a tall ship master with more than 35 years of experience as a professional sailor. His voyages have included five Atlantic Ocean crossings, as well as three Pacific voyages of 5,000 miles, each taking about 25 days. He has traversed the Saint Lawrence Seaway more than a dozen times. Captain Miles holds a USCG 500 Ocean Master License for Power and Sail, as well as numerous other certifications. Prior to joining Pride, Inc., Captain Miles served as master or mate aboard 15 vessels, including Lady Maryland, Californian, Bill of Rights, New Way, Alexandria, Brilliant and Clearwater. Along the way he also helped develop model sailing programs for youth at risk. His accomplishments and contributions to the tall ship sailing profession have been recognized both within and outside of the maritime community.
Jamie Trost, Captain: Captain Trost first sailed as Mate aboard Pride of Baltimore II in 2005. In October 2011, Captain Trost joined the organization as full time Captain after serving four seasons as partner Captain. He has more than 12 years of experience working aboard or commanding traditional vessels. Captain Trost holds a USCG 500 Ton Masters License Power and Sail as well as numerous other certifications. Captain Trost has an extensive background in War of 1812 Maritime History. In addition to his Pride of Baltimore II experience, Captain Trost has been Master aboard the Schooner Lynx, another reproduction 1812-era Chesapeake Bay topsail schooner and Chief Mate of the U.S. Brig Niagara, hailing from his hometown of Erie, PA. He brings vast knowledge regarding the history of that era that he uses to educate the public about the role Baltimore Privateers played in the conflict.
Missy Berger, Public Relations & Marketing Manager: Missy Berger manages Pride of Baltimore, Inc.'s media relations, announcements, and editorial placements, as well as administers the organizations marketing and outreach activities, including social media marketing and website management. Ms. Berger also manages Pride of Baltimore, Inc.’s grant process, including researching and identifying grant programs and opportunities, as well as coordinates activities for awarded funds. Ms. Berger joined the organization in 2005, bringing more than 12 years of experience in marketing, communications and proposal/project management activities for private businesses and publicly traded companies. She holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond.
Jane Wilcoxson, Executive Administrative Assistant ~ Jane Wilcoxson is Pride of Baltimore, Inc.’s office and ship administrator and customer liaison.  Ms. Wilcoxson coordinates details and schedule of activities for each port of call on Pride of Baltimore II’s itinerary, interacting with port organizers, ship liaisons, and dock facilities, as well as managing customs processes as required. Ms. Wilcoxson also coordinates Pride’s membership program, school tours schedule, overnight guest crew and daysail passengers, as well as souvenir fulfillment. Ms. Wilcoxson joined the organization in 2006, bringing more than 20 years of experience in office administration and customer support.
