James first sailed aboard Pride II as a guest crew in the fall of 2009.  He then joined on as part of the 2010 winter crew and will spend the spring season as a deckhand.  James became interested in sailing when a friend asked him if wanted to help work on a ship.  He spent several months of 2008 and most of 2009 working the Mystic Whaler as a deckhand where he sharpened his skills and seamanship.  James is also an accomplished musician and can play a number of instruments including the bass, cello, guitar and keyboard. James is looking forward to sailing aboard Pride II, visiting Duluth and making port stops in Canada.

Colette Emanuel, Deckhand
Colette immersed herself in the sailing life four years ago when she realized it would fulfill all three of her life’s ambitions: traveling, getting dirty and climbing things.  She has crewed on a number of tall ships including Hawaiian Chieftain, US Brig Niagara, Lynx, Irving Johnson, Kwai, and most recently, Bill of Rights.  During the summer of 2007 Colette attended the Picton Castle’s Bosun School to sharpen her understanding of maintaining and rigging a traditional vessel.  Besides sailing, Colette’s main passions are writing and traveling.  While working aboard Pride II, Colette is looking forward to visiting new places and improving her skills as a sailor.
